Me: "I just birthed a blog."
Blog: "Hello world!"
World: "Just so you know we are only mildly interested in your existence."
Blog, speaking in perfect English, which surprises everyone due to its infantile state: "Don't discount me because I'm young. I could grow into something impressive."
World: "We'll believe it when we see it. There are thousands of you being born everyday, most of them don't get past post three. Your average likely postspan, based on statistical measures related to your location, environment, etc., is probably 4 or 5. Talk to us when you get to six and we might start listening."
Blog:"What about the first five? What do I do?"
World:"Say insightful stuff. Be clever. We don't know. DO NOT try too hard, though, and don't be self aggrandizing, and don't try to sound smart, until you prove you know something."
Blog: "I don't know if I can pull this off. I was just born. I'm cold and wet and breathing air for the first time."
Me: "Don't worry Blog, we'll figure it out together."
